In earlier versions of ERwin we created a .nsm file and all models picked up that file. The administrators of ERwin maintained a development version and rolled that version over the top of the Production one after testing changes. All models using that set of naming standards automatically picked up the changes without any special activity.
In V9 this has changed to binding a template with the naming standards embedded within the template. All good so far. However, when a change occurs and put into production all the existing models need to get the template refreshed before the changes will get incorporated into the model.
This change in functionality is very debilitating in our environment where we have >20 modellers working on >50 models. Each one of them has to remember to refresh the template, something that was not needed in the earlier versions.
This is not a step forward!
Is there any way to overcome this manual intervention being required for each model?
