The explanation provided is that because Erwin is in partnership with the company that makes the product, Erwin is maintaining their copy and the company that produces the product keep their page. So ... when I had an issue with a broken link, I was referred to www.metaintagration.com version of the document. Well, the link was broken in their document too.
OK ... having duplicate ONLINE documents?? Very amateur. That leads to confusion and one document not being in sync with the other. This should not be occurring. A product must have one authoritative set of ONLINE support documentation.
Also, please provide .pdf documentation for Web Portal. For comparison, I am also planning for deploying Erwin DM Standard. I am using the .pdf documentation to do my planning. What I like about using Adobe Reader is its search function can search through all of the .pdf files in a folder. This is very helpful sometimes when a subject is discussed in more than one document. i.e. say in an Administration Guide AND in a User Guide
- have ONE source for ONLINE documentation that is up to date and has no broken links.
