When running the erwin Data Modeler install executable, the below Data Modeler logo appears for about 5-10 seconds, but the Install Wizard never actually starts. This happens regardless of the version of Data Modeler version being installed.
Chances are the install is being blocked by some type of Anti-Virus or Security software on the machine. If possible, try temporarily disabling any security software on the machine and try to rerun the install. If this is not possible, due to lacking administrator privileges, you should be able to check the Anti-Virus event logs and see all actions that are being blocked by the software.
Here are the steps to check the event logs in McAfee:
1. Open the Endpoint Security Client.
2. Click Event Log on the left side of the page.
3. Select an event from the top pane to display the details in the bottom pane.
You will see the path to executable that was blocked by the AV software, along with a timestamp. In this case the MaAfee would need to either be temporarily disabled by an admin or configured to allow erwin downloads.
There should be similar processes for other AV software as well.
