Launch Web Portal and got error: HTTP Status 404 - /MM/. The requested resource (/MM/) is not... - CA Technologies ERwin Knowledge Base
I've installed ERwin Web Portal following the 5.1 Default install on Windows with bundled Tomcat instructions. I just completed the step - "browse for the license file and Save." I'm now trying to launch the application but get the following error:
HTTP Status 404 - /MM/. The requested resource (/MM/) is not available. Apache Tomcat/5.5.23
This error message could be caused by incomplete Web Portal Database creation. Check Web Portal Server to see if there are any Tables, such as MIR_DEFINITION_ATTRIBUTE... It should have total 30 "MIR_..." tables.
Even if "Browse the license file and save" menu is clicked, you may actually have selected HostInfo.xml which is not the Web Portal license. It is the file to submit to CA license group to obtain an actual Web Portal license. Adding the Web Portal license (by clicking 'Save License' box in 'Browse the License' window), will initialize Web Portal Database creation process. You will see the message 'Database created sucessfully' in the end of process confirming the completion. That should address this problem.
NOTE: a good test is to run a database query tool from the machine that is trying to run the Metadata Management. In the query tool, try to connect to the Web Portal database (usually MIR) using the web portal user that you configured in the portal (usually also MIR). If the query tool cannot connect, there may be some sort of blockage to the database and you should involve your DBA to help remove that blockage. The error message from the query tool may give further clues about the type of blockage.
