Description:
After upgrading from Erwin 7.3 to erwin r8 some of the diagrams have their backgrounds covered with a grid of '+' signs. Where do you turn this option off so they are no longer displayed?
Solution:
The '+' signs are displayed as the 'Align Objects to Grid' option is selected. As per the Online Help the 'Align Object to Grid' function aligns entities, tables, or views to the nearest vertical and horizontal gridlines. New objects "snap" to the grid automatically. Existing objects are not automatically aligned with the grid unless they are copied, pasted, or moved.
To deselect this option, you do the following:
- Right click on the diagrams background and select 'Properties'.
- In the ER Diagram Editor select the 'Layout' tab.
- Under 'Grid Alignment' deselect the 'Align Objects to Grid'.
- Click on the 'Close' button to confirm the change.
