Description: I am unable to save my model changes after being logged into the mart for a couple of hours. I get the error, CA ERwin DM ! You do not have a valid Mart session to complete this operation. Access Denied. Login to continue. I am somehow losing my mart sessions.
The default time out for an ERwin mart session is 4 hours. So perhaps your session is timing out when you are idle for a few hours and not using ERwin? Then several hours later when you come back to ERwin to save changes, you get the error. To prevent that from occurring, please try the following to add to the timeout:
On the mart server host machine,
1. Shut down the mart server.
2. Locate the file web.xml in the folder
For 32-bit OS Mart Server:
C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\ERwin Mart Server r9\Tomcat\webapps\MartServer\WEB-INF
For 64-bit OS Mart Server:
C:\Program Files\CA\ERwin Mart Server r9\Tomcat64\webapps\MartServer\WEB-INF\
(Copy and paste it to back it up first).
Then edit web.xml using notepad or WordPad.
3. Locate the “<session-timeout> ” tag and then change the default value of “240” that means 240 minutes (four hours) to the value you prefer. As an example, try doubling that time to be 480 minutes (8 hours). Please change that to be instead,
4. Save the changes.
5. Restart the mart server
This article has been about changing the ERwin user (client application) time out. Not the Mart Administrator (web browser) time out.
