Your evaluation of the Corso Cloud is ready to begin and we have enabled your account. Please find details and connection information below.
Connection Options for the Corso Cloud
We have two methods of connecting to the Corso Cloud.
- Direct Remote Desktop
- vAppConnect
Direct Remote Desktop
Your users will have Microsoft Remote Desktop (or compatible) installed on their desktop with a version that supports NLA. They will connect directly to our cloud server and will be able to share their local resources with the cloud server to copy files, print etc.
For this, you will require your corporate firewall to be open to our cloud server on port 3389 for RDC traffic.
You may need to speak with your networking team to make sure this is possible. We can provide you with IP addresses for our cloud servers if required.
vAppConnect
This feature helps negate firewall issues by using standard internet ports. Your users will download and install a small client application on their desktop. This app will create an encrypted tunnel to our cloud servers which allows Remote Desktop traffic to pass over standard SSL port 443 through your firewall.
You may also need to speak with your network security team to make sure this is within your corporate policy.
vAppConnect uses port 443 with SSL encrypted data traffic. A proxy server may be involved for all traffic through ports 80 and 443 (HTTP and HTTPS), in which case vAppConect needs to know the details of the proxy server, please consult your network team to identify these details
Process for Connecting Microsoft Remote Desktop
You will connect via Microsoft Remote Desktop technology - this can be found in Start > All Programs > Accessories on most machines
You will be asked for a Computer name, username and later on a password
- these can all be found in your activation email from the Corso Support team, and should be entered as follows:
- Computer:demoX.corsocloud.com (where X corresponds to the demo server number you have been assigned - please see your activation email)
- Domain\Username:MYHOSTED\xxxxx
- When asked, enter the password from your email Password:myxxxxxx01
If successful, you will see a Remote Desktop window appear with your toolbar of applications.
You are ready to begin using the tools
Important Note: Your firewall will need to be open for RDC traffic over port 3389. Your network team may need to allow you this access. Your version of Remote Desktop must allow Network Level Authentication (NLA). For more information see http://support.corso3.com/knowledgebase/articles/44925
