Issue
I have installed vAppConnect successfully but receive a 'Class not registered' or a 'Microsoft .NET Framework'error (see link below) when trying to start the connection to the cloud
Please see the error messages box below
Resolution
The issue seems to be the level of Remote Desktop installed - Please use the following steps to ascertain the level installed
- Browse to C:\Windows\System32
- Right-click on the file mstsc.exe and click Properties
- Click the Version tab if you are running Windows XP or the Details tab in Windows Vista and 7.
The version of the Remote Desktop client installed on your computer is shown next to File Version in Windows XP or Product Version in Windows Vista and 7
The level originally read 6.0.6001.18000 - It needs to be at the 6.1 level (as stated in the Quick Start Guide)
To fix this add Hotfix for Windows XP (KB969084) - from the Microsoft website
The level comes up to 6.1.7600.16385 and the issue seems to be corrected
Issue
vAppConnect has installed correctly, but when I try to login I get either the 'Unable to connect to proxy server 'proxy.XXXX.XX.XXXX.net on port XXXX' or 'No such host is known' error
Resolution
Ensure that you have entered the correct server proxy details in the Settings > Network > Proxy Options section of vAppConnect
If you have entered the proxy details, we suggest you contact your network team and check:
- Your user ID has the correct permissions to access the proxy
- That you are allowed to access the host name in your Corso user credentials (XXX.corsocloud.com)
- You have the correct proxy settings entered into vAppConnect
