Description: I try to connect to my Oracle based Mart Server using ERwin DM or the Mart Administrator and I get 'Application Internal Error'. The same problem occurs if I try to connect to my mart from a different PC. This is not a first time installation, we have had the mart for some time. Everything was working fine yesterday and I am not sure what changed.
Please use an Oracle database tool to try to connect to the database using the same exact user name and password that was typed into the Mart Configure window for the mart server. Can you connect or do you get an error like ORA-28001: the password has expired? It is likely that the Oracle user's password has expired. If so, please ask the DBA to reset that user's password and prevent that from expiring in the future.
That will help the users who are assigned to the name of that profile.
To locate the profile of a specific user: select profile from DBA_USERS where username = 'username';
NOTE: other causes of this problem could be that the Oracle dbms is presently unavailable. For example, if the Oracle listener or service is down.
